The undying fire was clear evidence that more sacrifices would follow. Indeed, under the Levitical order, finality was impossible. In view of this, we rejoice to hear the triumphant word from Calvary’s “altar”—Finished! In the never-to-be-repeated atoning work of the Lord Jesus, we rest securely. —George Hall
