For this Melchizedek…who met Abraham…and blessed him:…the less is blessed of the better. Hebrews 7:1, 7
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings. Ephesians 1:3
We see here that the lesser (Abraham) is blessed by the greater (Melchizedek). It is a beautiful picture of our experience. God blesses us by giving us all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. But Abraham gave back to Melchizedek and so should we, by being generous with the gifts God has given—using them for Him. The greatest blessing we can give is to lift up His Son to Him and say we find Him altogether lovely. We are blessed; so may we bless. —Robert Gentile
