DAILY?READINGS: 2 Sam. 19:9-43; Jeremiah 3:6 to 4:2; Gal. 4:21 to 5:9

O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.  Jeremiah 10:23

An unexpected and sizable bill caused me distress and frustration about how it would be paid. Then the Lord reminded me of the abundant wheat crop He had provided and the income derived. Reflecting on my attitude, the Lord impressed upon me a conviction about my improper attitude toward money. Although a portion had been set aside for the Lord’s work, I had also planned on buying personal items and maybe a vacation. God knows the secrets of our lives before they come into view. I learned that even the unexpected is ordained of God and to be accepted as part of His plan. —E. Dyck

All the way my Saviour leads me—what have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy, who through life has been my Guide?
