DAILY?READINGS: 1 Chronicles 7; Ezekiel 10; John 2:23 to 3:21

…God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble…Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. 1 Peter 5:5-6

Most of us know better than to do battle with someone much bigger than ourselves. Yet sometimes we can find ourselves working against God. This unfortunate situation occurs when we struggle with pride. In corrective discipline God will resist us and humble us. However, if we humble ourselves under His mighty hand, He will give us grace and exalt us in due time. —Ken Gross

Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Thou art the potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after thy will,
While I am waiting, yielded and still.
—George C. Stebbins
