DAILY?READINGS: Gen. 25:1-34; Job 31:1-40; Matt. 13:24-43

All the inhabitants of Canaan will melt away. Exodus 15:15, NKJV
Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? Numbers 21:5, NKJV

Both of these verses are statements made by the children of Israel. One was in a song after the miracle at the Red Sea. The other much later, when they were complaining about God’s provision of manna. They remind us of what it means to leave our first love. Rather than rejoice in all our God has done for us, we find reasons to question His great love and bountiful provisions. May we like David cry out in true confession, “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation” (Ps. 51:12). Only then can we praise God as we should. —Ken Gross

Praise the Saviour ye who know Him, who can tell how much we owe Him?
Gladly let us render to Him, all we are and have. —Thomas Kelly
