DAILY READINGS: Numbers 16:1-40; Proverbs 13:1-25; 1 Peter 5:1-14

And they [brought] unto him one that was deaf and had an impediment in his speech. Mark 7:32

This man was unable to hear the words of Jesus and unable to speak clearly. Yet Jesus wonderfully healed him and his ears were opened and he became understandable in speech. Can it be true that we may be deaf to God and fail to hear his voice? If we will not listen to what He says, then we are very unlikely to commune with Him and sadly we will find it hard to speak clearly to people about the Lord. Let us take up the challenge every day to hear the Lord through His Word and speak to Him in prayer. —Paul Young

Hear Him, ye deaf; His praise, ye dumb, your loosen’d tongues employ.
Ye blind, behold your Saviour come, and leap, ye lame, for joy. — Charles Wesley
