DAILY READINGS: Joshua 7:1-26; Isaiah 3:1-4:6; Luke 22:31-53

And the rulers of the people dwelt at Jerusalem: the rest of the people also cast lots, to bring one of ten to dwell in Jerusalem the holy city. Nehemiah 11:1

It was one thing for the restored Israelites to tithe (give a tenth) of their goods; quite another to tithe their people. Our Lord desires ourselves and our time, more than our goods. With 168 hours in a week, this could mean 10 hours on the Lord’s Day for meetings, visitation, etc., and an hour per day in prayer and Bible study throughout the week. I wonder what our Master would do if each of us gave this to Him? —Rick Morse
