Leviticus 10:1-20; Psalms 111:1-112:10; Mark 2:1-22

Men ought always to pray, and not to faint. Luke 18:1 Because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her. Luke 18:5

The widow’s story is well known. Yet the Lord uses her plight to enforce an important principle. Perseverance in prayer. Years ago, in Cuba, a young beggar child came up and gently tapped my arm. I ignored him. He was tenacious; trying another five times, until I gave him some change. He won! You may smile, but listen to Jacob. “I will not let thee go, except thou bless me” (Gen. 32:26). “Let us be not weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Gal. 6:9). —Vernon Markle

Just keep on praying, ’till light breaks through.
The Lord will answer, will answer you,
God keeps His promises, His word is true,
Just keep on praying, ’til light breaks through. —Chalvar A. Gabriel
