Numbers 21:1-35; Proverbs 18:1-24; James 2:1-26

If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. Psalm 130:3-4

We should never separate these two verses. Yes, God does know all our sins. Yet amazingly, He laid them on His Son at Calvary so that forgiveness would be available to all who come to Him in simple faith. Our part is to admit we are sinners, believe Christ died for us, and confess Him as our Saviour. After salvation, if sin does overtake us we have His promise: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). —Wm. H. Gustafson
