The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it. Genesis 2:15

The garden of Eden, was God’s ideal earthly home for man. There he enjoyed the fruit of God’s provision, and was blessed with His fellowship. Alas, man rebelled against his Creator. But there was another garden, Gethsemane, where our Lord did not act on His own will as Adam had, but bowed to the will of His Father and went to the cross to save us from the wreckage of that first sin. By faith in Him, God’s heavenly home is opened. Do you believe? —Milton Haack

For me it was in the garden, He prayed: “Not My will, but Thine.”
He had no tears for His own griefs, but sweat drops of blood for mine.
O how marvelous! O how wonderful! Is my Saviour’s love for me!
—Charles Hutchinson Gabriel
