DAILY READINGS: Judges 14:1-15:20; Isaiah 34:1-17; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9, KJV

How can God conclude this when many people appear decent and upright? Scripture says, “For the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart,” (1 Samuel 16:7, KJV). “There is none righteous, no, not one,” (Romans 3:10, KJV). How then can we be made right with God? “Cast away from you all your transgressions…make you a new heart, and a new spirit: for why will ye die?” (Ezekiel 18:31, KJV). Dear unsaved one, confess your iniquities today, and turn to Christ to receive a new heart, and the gift of eternal life. —W. H. Burnett

Nothing in my hand I bring, simply to Thy cross I cling, Naked
come to Thee for dress, helpless, look to Thee for grace, Foul, I to the
fountain fly, wash me Saviour, or I die. —A. M. Toplady
