DAILY READINGS: 1 Samuel 26:1-27:12; Isaiah 65:1-25; Romans 8:1-17

The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come. Revelation 22:17

“Come” is one of the simplest commands of the English language. We teach it to our children at an early age. And yet it is a glorious invitation as well. The essence of the gospel is both an open invitation extended by the Saviour Himself, and a command to all mankind, for there is no other way of salvation. When you teach your children simple obedience to the command, “Come,” you are laying the foundation for a proper response to the much greater command/invitation of the Saviour. —William Gustafson

Come to the Saviour, make no delay; here in His Word He’s
shown us the way; Here in our midst He’s standing today,
tenderly saying, “Come!” —George F. Root
