2 Chronicles 25:1-28; Ezekiel 42:1-20; John 18:28-19:16

We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God. Daniel 6:5, NKJV

These evil, petty men were frustrated. They could not find any “charge or fault” (v. 4) in Daniel’s life. In order to trap and trip him, they had to concoct a law. How would they do that? They would have to attack him where he was “faithful” (v. 4), namely, his loyalty to his God. In this corrupt world in which we live, if only we were as guilty as Daniel! He was still true to God after all those decades! What a transparent, enduring life! May God grant us to be charged with the same crime. —N. C. Funston
