Genesis 8:20-9:29; Job 11:1-12:25; Matthew 6:1-18

Lord, how long wilt thou look on? Psalm 35:17

Joseph and Jeremiah found themselves in dungeons of false accusations; Jonah in the belly of foolish decisions; David in the cave of rejection; Elijah in the cave of failure; Isaiah commissioned to the stronghold of hardening hearts, Habakkuk called to dwell among unrighteousness. Every situation was allowed by God, but for how long? Just long enough to accomplish His sovereign will and reveal His glory. Beloved, wait upon the Lord with confidence as He renews your strength, for eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him (1 Cor. 2:9). —D. J. Reed

I waited for the Lord on high,
I waited and He heard my cry. —B. Batstone
