Genesis 13:1-14:24; Job 16:1-17:16; Matthew 8:1-27

And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what will thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go… Acts 9:6
And the Lord said unto [Ananias], Arise, and go…. Acts 9:11

God uses men and women to do His work. He could have told Saul what He desired, but He chose Ananias. In God’s wisdom and love He purposes to let us be a vital part of His work for His glory and our good. “Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus…hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost” (Acts 9:17). —D. Pickup

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see. —John Newton

DAILY READINGS: Gen. 13-14; Job 16:1-17:16; Matt. 8:1-27

For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you Psalm 86:5

What an encouragement this is: the Lord, in His goodness, is not reluctant but ready to forgive. None need despair, however deep his sins are, for He is plenteous in mercy. There are also no restrictions; the offer is unto all that call upon Him. “For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved‘” (Romans 10:13). —Reg. L. Jordan

Come away to Jesus, He is willing to forgive;
His love will shine around you every moment that you live.
