Exodus 38:1-31; Psalms 90:1-91:16; Acts 22:22-23:11

So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not. Jonah 1:6

Could this be what those around us are saying to us? “You believe in a great God that loves us; you say that you love us; then pray for us; petition your God on our behalf.” Like those sailors of old, people around us are perishing in their sin. Let us not be sleeping or unconcerned, but praying to our Heavenly Father, who is able and willing to save. —D. Pickup

Rescue the perishing,
Care for the dying;
Jesus is merciful,

Jesus will save. —Fanny J. Crosby
