Leviticus 6:8-7:10; Psalm 106:1-48; Acts 28:1-16

Because they are not of the world…I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. John 17:14-15

These wonderful words of the Lord Jesus as He prayed to His Father remind us of our present position. We are very much part of our society and must not escape the responsibilities which that entails. However we are also called to be different. So “He calls us to be morally distinctive but not socially segregated” (Lindsay Brown). We must mix with people as salt and light but always avoid evil by demonstrating righteousness and godly living. —Paul Young

My hands, my eyes, my ears, my tongue,
Have Satan’s servants been too long,
But now they shall be Thine. —John Newton
