2 Kings 5:1-27; Jeremiah 38:1-28; Hebrews 9:15-28

Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand. Job 23:8-9

Job was a man in real distress. He had lost his health, children, possessions, reputation and status. Yet throughout this terrible ordeal, what Job longed for most was God’s presence. He yearned for the one thing that would sustain him in this life and the next— a relationship with God. What do we long for most through our trials and tribulations on this earth? Let it be God, and Him alone, for He will prove to be sufficient for our need. —Deborah Manera
