2 Kings 14:23-15:31; Jeremiah 50:1-20; Titus 1:1-2:8

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. Psalm 28:7

This psalm starts off with a cry for help, moves to confidence in the Lord’s protection, and finishes with praise for His provision. We can always cry to the Lord in times of need. In those moments we learn the most about Him. These are the times when we experience His nearness and His presence, the times when all else is stripped away from us and there is nowhere else to turn. —G. Frear

Unto Thee I cry, O Lord my God,
Keep me safe with protecting rod;
Hear my voice, to You I cry,
Keep me from evil, for You are nigh. —G. F.
