2 Kings 18:1-37; Jeremiah 51:25-64; 1 Timothy 2:1-15

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. Psalm 27:14

David did a lot of waiting. Much of it was accompanied by the trials of living in the wilderness and being on the run for his life. Despite his difficulties he still trusted in the Lord regardless of where that took him. He had experience in the realm of waiting. What is his admonition to us? Be brave, look to God for strength and wait in faith! —Danielle Robins

My soul, be silent, wait upon the Lord!
Learn to deny thy thought and all thy will.
Learn to let God anoint thee with Himself,
And thru thy prayer His purposes fulfill. —W. Lee
