2 Kings 24:1-20; Lamentations 4:1-5:22; 2 Timothy 1:1-18

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble… Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:1-3, 10, NKJV

What God has done and will yet do for Israel in the future, He is able to do for you. If His resources can protect a nation and conquer victoriously, can He not do the same for you? When our minds are engulfed in anxiety, we need to be still. Alone with God, we pour out our hearts (Ps. 62:8). His Word will direct our minds to the incredible greatness of our God, calming the waves of despair. —Peter Ramsay

Be still, my soul! The Lord is on your side;
Bear patiently the cross of grief and pain;
Leave to your God to order and provide;
In every change He faithful will remain. —K. Von Schlegel
