Description

God At Work: in Glassford, Chapelton and Central Africa
By: Jack Murdoch

A local lad brought up in a small village in the heart of Lanarkshire, came across evidence of past activities of Druids, Quakers and Covenanters in the area. He later weaved their story into this gripping book.

The author moves on to consider the pioneer missionary Jeanie Gilchrist – and that of well known missionaries – who brought the gospel to Central Africa in the late 19th and early 20th century.

He then traces the work among children in Chapelton over a period of thirty eight years. This is the record of the work of David and Martha Kinnaird and their team of helpers during the period from 1967-2004.

Jack Murdoch was born in Glassford but has lived a large part of his adult life in Irvine and Ayr. He qualified as a Banker and has a number of Accountancy qualifications. He was Director of Finance and Management Services and later became the MD of Irvine Development Corporation. He has been involved in various aspects of Christian work throughout his life. He is happily married to Ann and has 4 children.
