Israel: The Family and Nation of Destiny
By: H. Hazell Shackcloth
In this book the author has sought to show that the Old Testament story of Jacob’s family embodies within itself a prophetic picture of the entire range of God’s dealings with mankind; from the time of the Patriarchs until the eternal ages.
It is the story of the Divine purposes being challenged by satanic and human agencies with the Triune God triumphing in the end when His grace and glory is fully revealed. His omnipotence is seen in its accomplishment; His omniscience in His detailed prophetic revelations.
As the apostle Paul aptly writes:
“Now these things happened unto them by way of example, and they were written for our admoniton, upon whom the ends of the ages are come” (1 Corinthians 10:11 R.V.).
That this time has arrived is sufficient justification for stressing the urgency of the message of the book.
