Romans: A Commentary on Chapters 1-8
By: Albert Leckie
The fact that this book has been published nearly 20 years after Albert Leckie was called home to be with the Lord might help the reader to appreciate its contents and format.
For nearly thirty years Mr. Leckie conducted the Trimsaran Bible Readings in south west Wales. These were held in August of each year and proved to be helpful to many believers in their understanding of a wide range of truth. The years 1981-84 were devoted to the study of the first ten chapters of the Roman epistle. These Readings were unlike many others. It is usual in Bible Readings for there to be a set passage and in the time available this must be covered, with the result that some verses are not considered in any depth or at all. At Trimsaran there was no set passage: the meeting continued until the arrival of the time for it to finish and the next day the study began at the next verse. This ensured a more even coverage of each verse and meant that the text could be considered in greater detail.
