Description

Song of Songs: Unveiling the Mystery of Passionate Intimacy with Christ
By: Watchman Nee

Mr. Nee interprets allegorically but thinks of the Song of Songs in terms of the individual believer rather than the Church as a whole. This book has remarkable insight into spiritual affections.

The Song of Solomon is one of the finest love poems ever written. Over the centuries its beautiful language and sublime imagery have enchanted reader.

-But why is this tender love poem included in the Scripture?
How should we interpret it?

This a real mystery to many of us, but Watchman Nee believes it is possible to discover within the poem all the principles needed to develop the spiritual life. In this devotional commentary, Watchmen Nee explores the love relationship between the individual believer and the Lord. His insights are for all who long to intensify their love and by so doing find overwhelming joy and complete satisfaction.

Watchman Nee (1903-1972) was a noted Chinese Bible teacher and Christian leader. He began his preaching ministry while still a university student. From 1923 to 1950 Nee founded 200 churches. Starting as small groups meeting in rented houses, these self-supporting congregations became strong spiritually and grew rapidly, continuing to develop after China’s Cultural Revolution. Nee was arrested in 1952 and found guilty of false charges; he was imprisoned until his death in 1972. Nee concentrated on deepening spiritual life through intensive training in the Word of God. His rich spoken ministry influenced many lives.
