Description

Today, as never before, we need to hunger for an outpouring of God’s Spirit upon our churches and communities. We need to pray fervently for a revival amongst the people of God. Yet if God should withhold a national revival, we can live in personal revival by daily drawing close to the Lord through prayer, obedience and His Word. We need God’s Holy Spirit and it is vital that we know His power working in us today for God’s glory.

From the Introduction:

There was a great deal of excitement in the Principality of Wales in the year 2004 as an event from one hundred years earlier was commemorated. That event lasted for several months and went on into 1905, affecting people in all parts of the country. The event, of course, was the Welsh Revival and it helped to transform the spiritual landscape of Wales and also ripples of that event were eventually felt around the globe.
I was asked to deliver two messages on the Welsh Revival for a conference in Cardiff and subsequently I gave those lectures in a number of places. I later transformed the material into five radio talks for the programme Truth for Today which were broadcast by Trans World Radio. Also I have worked the material into a short article for the magazine Precious Seed.
It was felt that there might be some benefit in putting the material into a more permanent format thus allowing it to be more widely distributed. This book attempts to be both factual and challenging. It is not good enough to simply rejoice in what God did many years ago. We need to take up the challenge of living in expectation of another pouring out of God’s Spirit and to be in the right spiritual condition that such an outpouring is actually possible.
My thanks to all who made this work a possibility and it goes forward with the prayer that God’s people will be blessed and challenged. Paul Young
