One of the first things we learn are the ABC’s. These basic building blocks of language form our framework for learning. In a similar way, God’s message of love and forgiveness has ABC’s, too. These simple truths, found in the Bible, are the essential foundation for understanding and receiving eternal life.
ADMIT OUR NEED
God is holy and we have fallen short of His perfect standard. Our sin separates us from God.
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
“There is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin.” Ecclesiastes 7:20
“Your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you.” Isaiah 59:2
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10
“The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
BELIEVE ON JESUS
God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to die for our sins. We receive eternal life by trusting fully in Him.
“God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
“Christ died for our sins … was buried, and … rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
“Most assuredly, I [Jesus] say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.” John 6:47
“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9
“As many as received Him [Jesus], to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” John 1:12
“By grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
CALL OUT TO HIM
God is waiting to hear from you. Talk with Him and accept the free gift of salvation He is offering you.
“Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
“You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.” Psalm 86:5
“Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way…. Let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:6-7
